The Italian Cultural Institute C.M. Lerici promotes the Italian culture in Sweden through a series of different events among which “Designing the real world”, a retrospective of the famed artist and designer Riccardo Dalisi with his most iconic design pieces. Dalisi is one of the leading members of the Radical Design movement and co-founder of Global Tools. He reformulated the concept of sustainability, applying it to industrial design. His research has always been focused on “poor design”, where common materials are transformed by traditional craftsmanship. He also run animation projects with the participation of children and elders from the poorer districts of Rua Catalana in Naples. For Alessi he redesigned the Neapolitan flip coffee pot. Objects, jewels, sketches and photographs borrowed from the immense and chaotic archive of the designer and architect are examples of social, historical and cultural evolution, documents of the interaction between architecture, art and craftsmanship.
