Stockholm Design Week September 5-11, 2022

HIGHLIGHTS

Flokk invites visitors to an interactive exhibition curated by design studio Hunting & Narud at A-House in Östermalm where the focus is on the sustainable chair HÅG Tion, which is made using 75 percent recycled and renewable materials. There are also workshops and seminars with a focus on tactile materials and a screen-free environment. Offecct will launch a new minimalist piece by emerging designer Ronja Reubers and Svenskt Tenn will present a long anticipated new collaboration with an international designer. A number of exhibitions, such as Made in Sweden at the auction house Bukowskis, and Verk with their ongoing exhibition and manifest The future is Local put an emphasis on Swedish design and resources.

Other highlights include the new brand Noon launching a collection of 15 lamps with a flexible colour system. “Noon was launched to add colour to the lighting industry,” says founder Alexander Lervik who together with Anna Herrman has designed the lamps which are available in 200 colours of paint and 100 colours of cables as standard. As a result, it’s also possible to switch colour when people are in need of an update. “With this we have extended the product's lifespan significantly,” Lervik adds. The interactive free Stockholm Design Week app is available from mid August and offer a complete listing of activities.

PREVIEW 2023: STOCKHOLM FURNITURE & LIGHT FAIR

During Stockholm Design Week in September there will be a special preview event where Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair introduce the Guest of Honour for 2023, their new collaboration with a Scandinavian Design Award and their new platform Älvsjö gård, focusing on experimental, research driven and collectible design.

With its close proximity to the fair ground of Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair, Älvsjö gård will attract a large international audience and has unique position to bridge the gap between commercial and limited design. A number of new collaborations for the comeback year 2023 will also be introduced.
