Thanks for celebrating a world of design with us. In total, there were more than 100 events in Stockholm during Summer Design Week 2019. The week, August 19-25, offered many different kinds of events, from exhibitions in galleries and museums to designer talks and workshops. We had a blast and hope you also enjoyed Summer Design Week, and became inspired by the events. Here are some highlights from the week. 



Fashion auction

Stockholms Auktionsverk hosted an exclusive auction of vintage and archive clothes made by British fashion and textile designer Zandra Rhodes. She is one of the British designers who put London at the forefront of the international fashion scene in the 1970s.

Design Diplomacy

The event concept Design Diplomacy was introduced at the Embassy of Finland and Embassy of the Netherlands. This is an event where leading design profiles from two countries meet and share their experiences to the audience. In the picture, designer Isa Andersson (SWE) and designer Rick Tegelaar (NL).

Formex Nova 2019

Kasper Friis Kjeldgaard (Denmark) was announced the winner of Formex Nova 2019! Kasper’s work stretches across the fields art and design and recently he was one of the chosen to display his work at Wallpaper’s exhibit Handmade during Milano Design Week.

140 furniture by Wegner

Bukowskis presented a unique private collection of 140 furniture by the Danish designer Hans J. Wegner with highlights such as “The Buck Chair”, as well as a rare edition of the “China Chair – collector’s items that narrates an exciting history about Wegner’s career and development.
